si-jones: As a part of an artistic statement in Shanghai, a calligrapher transcribed the entire zhang huan family tree on to his face, until the names and lineages gradually accumulated and covered his entire skin with ink in order to suggest resistance – a refusal to allow his identity to be consumed by the tide of tradition.
This reminds me of the Matrix code, sense the code sequence in the movie uses oriental symbols and sense the Matrix and family lineages both systematically restrain people. (4:31pm)
